Sofia
Sofia Ruiz is a Junior Leader at White Tiger Tae Kwon Do who has 10 years of tae kwon do under her belt and currently holds a second degree black belt.
She has been junior leading for six years and helps with classes, birthday parties, camps, movie nights and more.
In 2017, Sofia was elected by her class as Team Captain for the 2017/18 White Tiger Demo Team, leading our team to second place at the 2018 US Honk-Ik Championship.
Instructor Chris
Instructor Chris McLaughlin holds a second degree black belt in tae kwon do and has been part of the White Tiger community for over 13 years. He received his first degree black belt from Master Ji in 2008 and was part of the very first cohort of black belts ever awarded at White Tiger.
Aside from competing at various local tae kwon do tournaments, Instructor Chris is also well-versed in Muay Thai, wrestled competitively at Greenwich High School, and is training for his blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Master Ji
Master Kwanjoo Ji is a graduate of Yong-In University, in South Korea, where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Education. He currently holds a 6th degree black belt in tae kwon do and a 4th degree black belt in yong moo do.
With over 30 years of martial arts experience, which included teaching in the Korean military, Master Ji believes in individualized instruction for children and adults in order for them to develop their capabilities and realize their full potential.
Instructor Michael
Starting at the age of seven and now with more than 19 years of experience, Instructor Michael Santoro holds a third degree black belt.
Instructor Michael believes in tailoring his teaching to each individual differently to best connect with the student so their learning is a challenging yet enjoyable experience.
Winning nearly 70 gold & silver medals at many championships, he continues his passion by coaching students for upcoming events.
Ms. Rachel
Rachel Metzger is currently studying tae kwon do and is working on reaching her goal of getting her first degree black belt.
With marketing experience from Wall Street to small startup companies, Rachel manages White Tiger with professionalism, integrity, communication and efficiency to ensure our students and families get the most out of everything White Tiger has to offer.
